Maui Jim got its start in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on Ka'anapali beach in Lahaina, Maui. On the western side of the Big Island, you will find large, flat lava rock formations that have become known simply as “two steps”, which lead into the water at the Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. “Two Steps” mimics the rectangular shape of these lava formations, while also offering comfort and ample protection from long days in the sun.
